Gator Softball Wins!!!

Incredible! The Florida softball team defeated Alabama with a walk off grand slam today! I'm still excited!

The Gators have now put themselves in a good position. Had they lost they would have had to play a second game late tonight. Instead they can rest, relax and wait for either Washington or Georgia. Right now it's not looking good for Georgia. Would be nice to have an all SEC championship series, though. Or would it? Hmmm...would Georgia's familiarity with Stacey Nelson be a bad thing? And Washington really only has one pitcher - she is player of the year but she's been throwing a lot of pitches today. I'm not sure which team would be the best choice to play Florida.

Except for one blowout game, the tournament has been really competitive and fun to watch.

So, I'm asking all my loyal readers to send their positive energy to the Gators in Oklahoma City! Next game: Monday at 8pm on ESPN. Go Gators!

PS. Georgia has now scored some runs. It's anybody's game at this point. I suspect I'll be asleep before the end of the game. Good night.

Last Saturday in May

Boxer and Peanut are becoming more and more comfortable with each other. Their play is so much more relaxed now than it's ever been. If only we could say the same with Sydney.

A Saturday in May

Our dogs are like our kids - this means we talk about them too much and have too many pictures! But we sure do love them. Boxer and Sydney below.

We finally purchased a cistern - just placed it this morning and without being hooked up it already has two inches of water!

Peanut loves to play fetch!

Got up at aout 7am and fed the dogs. Stayed up and had some cereal and coffee, fed the birds and then played a bit of guitar on the deck. Miriam finally joined me at about 8:30. We did a bit of running around today - took a comforter to S&S for final cleaning before being put up until next winter. Went to Home Depot to get the cistern. Had lunch at Ivey's. Bought dog food at Earth Pets. Browsed around Tractor Supply and then over to Paddiwack. Stopped at Uppercrust to get some bread and a raspberry creme cheese rose pastry - yummo.

Came home and let the big dogs out. Then let the little one out. I'm blogging and Mir is watching baseball. It's raining and thundering. Peanut is sitting and gazing out the door wishing there was a squirrel to chase. What a nice day!

Sunshine at Midday

The sun has come out today - at least during lunchtime. Not sure how long it will last, but it is nice for the dogs to be able to spend some quality time outdoors.

It's Official!

Andrew is now a married man. The wedding was wonderful. The bride and groom were both beautiful. Eveything was fantastic.

Mucho happiness to all!

Rainy Day

Well, it finally came yesterday afternoon - the long awaited rain. Here is a pic in the car riding home - it had almost stopped by then. I had ridden my bike in to work but hitched a ride home due to the lightening.

Nat and the girls are in town for the UF Preview. Went over and visited with all but Brooke (she was spending the night in the dorm).

It's Friday and that's a good thing. Tomorrow is the BIG day for Andrew and Allyson. I don't usually like attending weddings, but this one is an exception - should be fun!

Lunch is almost over - so gotta go.

Another Weekend Here and Gone

Just wanted to share a picture of Miriam's gardenia. It's taken a little too late as you can see some blooms are browning - but it was loaded and beautiful for a day or two.

Mom had a yard sale yesterday. She lives in the Stephen Foster neighbohood but didn't realize they were having a neighborhood wide yard sale extravaganza. Apparently, she did quite well. Unloaded a lot of stuff. I rode my bike over mid-morning to visit - had a very nice time - Katherine and Cliff were there and we had a lot of laughs sitting under some trees and enjoying the day.

Miriam came over later and we did lunch as the sale wound down. Afterwards, we went around and did errands - dog food, bird seed and a stop at Wards.

Today we go to Ocala - will take Peanut - she's a great little traveler.

Oh, Friday we went to a concert. Every year the UF school of music has a Brazilian Music Institute week of master classes with Brazilian musicians - guitarists - and the week culminates in a concert. This is our third year going and it was fantastic. Next year, I am going to try to blog about it beforehand so that you, loyal readers, will have a heads up and maybe make it part of your day.

Gotta go.

Let's Jump Start to Good Health

The Woman Challenge - May 10-July 4, 2009 - womenshealth.gov - Join

This past weekend we finally got on our bicycles and rode several miles on the Hawthorne Trail. We felt good doing it, but know that this spur of the moment decision will not serve us well down the road. We need to plan for daily exercise if we're to emerge more healthy. So, those of us who know we need to do more - let's do it.
